Al Dowdell

In 1979, Al became an independent insurance broker with a focus on representing clients, rather than insurance companies. As an independent broker, Al has established a significant and growing network of industry contacts and trusted relationships.

Al’s focus is on estate planning for individuals and businesses. For many years, Al has provided customized benefit programs for companies and corporations across in western Canada, as well as retirement planning for families and individuals.

Robert McCullagh, CFP, CLU, CH.F.C, RHU

Robert started his career in the financial services industry with the Royal Bank over 20 years ago.  He joined Prudential of England as a life agent in 1989, where he developed the skills of financial planning and built a clientele for the next ten years. In 1999 Robert became an independent broker with Benefit Planners and has a successful practice of business owners and clients.

Robert began teaching the Certified Financial Planning (CFP) program at Mount Royal College in 1997, later taught the CFP program for the University of Calgary. In 2003 he developed and began teaching Personal Finance and Investing through Mount Royal College.

Industry involvement is very important to Robert who has held several positions within the local Calgary Chapter of Advocis since 1992, including being President in 2004. Robert is a current Board Member of the Financial Advisors Association of Canada (TFAAC) and is responsible for working with four regional schools. He is a past chair of the Banff School and remains on the organizing team.

Adelina Banks

Adelina Banks has recently joined the team at Benefit Planners, and will be providing a full range of insurance, investment and income services.

Adelina has a strong background in client services from her previous roles.  Before becoming a financial advisor, Adelina worked for many years in the oil & gas industry providing accounting and executive associate services.  Adelina is currently completing her Certified Financial Planner® certification.

Known for her strong customer service focus, the highest degree of professionalism and integrity, Adelina is committed to taking a holistic view toward helping our clients reach their personal and financial goals.
